CAROLIN ACHIEVEMENTS
AT PROJECT – FEBRUARY

1.Data Collection
Visiting:
-District education Office Lunzu
-District Health Office
-District Planning Office (about 10 times for several things)
-Bible Society of Malawi
-Chikowa Health centre
-Chileka Health centre
-Ckileka Police station
-Social Welfare Department
-Chamber of Commerce
-Town Hall
-Traditional Court Kuntaja
-Traditional Court Kunthembwe
-Red cross
-Congoma (council of NGO's in Malawi)
-wrote e-mails to all NGO's working around Blantyre, to get to know if
 and what they are working on in the areas we want to start TCM
-meeting with NGO "freshwater project"

For information about:
-Education: number of zones, where are their offices, number of
 schools, students, HIV/AIDS programs existing? plans for it?
-Health: Health centres? How many patients? Treatment  
 available? PMTCT? VCT? TB-treatment? STD's? Program on
 HIV/AIDS?
-Churches? where? Meeting of churches?
-Names of villages in area, population? workplaces? number of
 orphans?
-existing structures in area? HBC? Orphan care? NGO's?
-names of headmen, meeting?

2.Introduction of TCM
At the same time of data collection I also introduced and explained TCM to
the responsible people in the offices and the headmen

3.Making Fields:
- copying maps
- getting information about villages and population and dividing it into 50
   fields with approximately 2000 people (which I did, but at the end the
   information from the district planning office turned out to be too old)
- making fields for kunthembwe together with headmen at meeting (very nice, in

  about half an hour we had the 15 fields for kunthembwe)
- meeting with headmen of Kuntaja they will give us the information about how
  they divided the fields later)

4.proposals
written proposals for:
-printing manuals
-car
-bicycles
-office things
-support from companies

--> sent until now: only proposals to printing companies

5.Income Rally weekend:
-made TCM Pamphlet
-TCM shooting script

6.My projects

Hospital event:
-wrote proposal to supermarkets, gave them, waiting for answer
-visiting Chikowa health centre to get information about their situation

"Action Medeor":
-gathered information with help of medical assistent in Chikowa about what
medicines, equipment is needed, exact list of medicines needed per month...
-started writing proposal for Action Medeor (German NGO),not yet finished.
